The A side of this tape is a live recording we did with Rich Smith for our friend Phil Chokeword and his rather excellent podcast waaaaaay back in February, (i know TWO members of Gordon Gano's Army in one room?!) I think it was after our 5th show we'd ever played on our mammoth 4 day tour of South-West England. For a lack of anywhere better to stay we slept in a line on benches in the pub we'd played the night before. Waking up, feeling great, approximately 5 minutes before we were supposed to be at our audio date. The intro was a one-way conversation Reza recorded at said pub, of a local "wacky guy" who got himself kicked out and started a fight outside... Just so you know. The recording was notable for 2 things - the incredible tone you can get from a line 6 guitar amp just by turning up the "insane" setting; a room mic going through a constant tape echo will not see much light of day in the final mix. Three of the songs have and will appear in other forms and formats but 2 of them probably won't. The B-side is Pines covering Thee Headaches and Boon covering the Magic Lanterns.
We made the tapes, hand-dubbed, stamped and sealed with love. There are 100 in existence... Get them by coming to see us play or sending £4 to huxleyboon@gmail.com via the medium of paypal.
