hi! we're playing at offset festival next sunday, should be great, my friend Jeff is coming along... he's from canada and is a really great guy. he lives in a town called coburg, which is about an hour outside of toronto, it's a pretty small town which in summer the population almost doubles because they have this really great beach. which i've been on in both summer and winter, in winter it was crazy... apparently it was about minus 30 with windchill, we stayed out on the beach for far longer than we wanted to because another friend of ours, Andreas, wanted to take loads of photos of the pier which was completely frozen over, which admittedly looked pretty cool but it was also minus 30 with windchill. we also did loads of other great stuff when in coburg and in toronto for that matter. it was great. also our friend stevie is coming along too, he's an excellent man, he's responsible for some pretty great influential epic crust, his old band is pretty audacious, I mean who gets away with releasing a 6 LP box-set of your discography about 2 months after you break up? Him, that's who. ok, so we'll see you there, enjoy your bank holiday.

MAD MIND

SAUNA YOUTH. "MAD MIND"
A.
1. NEGATIVE OBSESSIONS
2. MY GOLD'S BANGLA
3. MILD MILD HORSES
B.
4. LIST OF POWER STATIONS
An exploration into uncontrollable urges. The struggle between logical, sensible thought processes, stacked up against internal forces and whims. The age we currently find ourselves in has offered up a plethora of avenues in which we can share our thoughts, feelings and experiences. Distance between people is no longer an issue. The constant stream of information that is being released through an ever increasing ease of access is beyond comprehension. The shift in the way in which we can present ourselves to the rest of the world has meant we can create our own personalities, create different versions of ourselves and ultimately make ourselves a lot more interesting than we actually are.
One of the songs is kind of about that, that sometimes it's easier to immerse yourself in other people's lives than it is your own. Another is about finding an individualistic approach to anchoring yourself, creating your own reasoning and explanation of unexplainable occurrences. Totems. The other is about knowing one course of action is the correct path to follow but ignoring your own inbuilt rationale and heading off in completely the opposite direction, like an idiot. The story on the B side is about excessive masturbation.
Side A was written and recorded by us, none of us knowing how to play the songs prior to recording them, Reza achieving a PB of doing his parts in the last 20 minutes of a practice. Everything was pieced together over short pockets of time we created between April and June 2010. The songs were performed as a band for the very first time when we played in Murphy's old bedroom at the homestead in Southampton. Side B was a collaboration between Jennifer Calleja, who provided the story of a college professor suffering from satyriasis, and Jonny Hill who created the sound accompanying the piece. This release was created for our friend Matt who runs his own label, Suplex Cassettes. It is currently an edition of 50 on orange tapes.
You can buy it here for £4.50 postpaid.

PARTY

Hey, so last night with No Age was fun. Sorry about the E45.
We decided that we'd like to put on a show to celebrate the release of our new tape. We've found somewhere that is all ages and isn't a bar, pub or club in Brighton (crazy, huh?) and our getting our friends to help out with putting it on.
This is the information that is available to us at this time -
